Burns Supper

Thanks for a wonderful evening and delicious haggis - I really enjoyed that and of course the whisky, wine, dessert, ... it was great.
and thanks again for a great time in Edinburgh, Ross. See you in Vienna.

Radio fifth day

We read the news, not much time to prepare and read the script, but we managed. Afterwards we watched others doing their first show , so many different things you have to think of, things you must not forget, ......
In the evening we had Burns supper but that's a different story

Radio fourth day

LIVE SHOW - and so early, we were not really talkative, Ross weren't we. But somehow the time passed and thanks to Ross and Mike there wasn't only silence.

Burns Night

Do you konw what it is? We'll try to find out and maybe tell you tomorrow.

Radio third day

Today we discussed some of the legal aspects, different forms of interviews and how to use them in class.
We created our first radio play with sound effects.

Radio

first radio broadcast - our first test with the interviews we collected yesterday. We worked on those interviews - cut out all the ehms, uhms, silences, ... then we added an introduction - horrible - it took me so many times to get something that we could use for our introduction.

Radio first day

Met Ross and talked about the plan for this week's course. Then we had to make some interviews. First we had to find a topic - environment and the discussion of nuclear power plants seemed most useful to us. So we wrote down the question and after an intro to the mp3 player we went out to ask people. It's really strange - most of them told us, they have no time, but in the end we managed to get 6 interviews.

Bye

So we even managed our podcasting on weblog - thanks to Ross is wasn't as disastrous as I expected.

Thanks, Patrick I think we learned a lot and it was fun.

Use of weblogs in the classroom

In my courses students have to prepare for different fields of studies, i.e. they have to summarize newspaper articles -written or orally - about various topics, so with RSS feeds they can access the latest updates on e.g.: technology, education, humanities, business, social studies,...

The weblog can also be used as a course diary, there students can find the reviews of previous lessons and also previews for the next lessons.

For their exercises they can use the links that are posted in the weblog.
Furthermore, there should be sections for students' written exercises, for their comments and room for the latest on books, movies, music, etc.
A guideline section could help them to find information on how to write summaries, essays, stories, interviews, etc.

You can have a look at a first draft on SBP Swap English Ideas
or you can listen to our podcast channel there you can find the interviews on weblogs in education

FEEDSWEEP

just tried to do the same - but as usual I forgot one step I didn't mark the word - so I had to do it once again - but now it worked.

feedsweep

feedsweep is used to display contents of others - to aggregate the feeds I have to go to advanced.
then I've got to fill in rss link , javascript is there; layout: be careful with width - about 150 - then it is ok - go freetext in my weblog - paste javascript there - edit - then it should be there.
DO NOT FORGET TO MARK THE WORD FOR THE LINK OTHERWISE IT DOESN'T WORK!!!!

third day Wednesday

hi - good morning, just tried to link with my entry of yesterday - it worked, what a surprise. So let's see what else we have learned and what we are going to do today. till later
